Homemade Granola

Updated: Mar 16, 2022

My family loves this homemade granola. We eat it as a snack in a little container. We eat it as cereal covered in milk. We top ice cream or yogurt with it. We even use it to make homemade granola bars!

I hope you enjoy this recipe, too. It's easy to make a giant batch that will last you a little while depending on the size of your family.

As always, let's get right to the recipe . . .

Here's how to do it:

Heat oven to 300 degrees. In a reeeeeally big bowl (see photo below!) combine:

12 cups oats

1 cup unsweetened coconut

1 cup whole wheat flour

1/2 cup powdered milk

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup of olive oil

1 1/3 cup honey (slightly warmed helps for mixing)

1 tablespoon vanilla

Stir till all ingredients are wet and combined. Spread evenly over two large cookie sheets and bake at 300 degrees for 44-55 minutes. ** Every 10 minutes or so stir the pans around so the edges don't burn.

Remove from oven and let cool. Granola will get crunch as it cools down. Once it's at room temperature add any of the following and store in airtight containers.

2 cups any combination of nuts

2 cups any combination of dried fruit

Customize this granola to your liking after you've made it once or twice. Or just use up whatever you have on hand. Enjoy!
