Our Family Room & Dining Area

I’ve been looking at some other excellent moms’ websites here, here, here, here, and here.  It’s fun to see how others organize their homes & to get some ideas for storage and decorating on a budget.

Here’s our family room.  It’s where we do most of our hanging out, game playing, devotions, and sometimes school.  This room is open to our dining area & kitchen.

Here’s another picture taken from the other side of the room.  The French doors open to a paver patio.

A little closer in, here’s the view into the space where we eat and do most of our hanging out with friends and family.  Always around the food!

View of kitchen table, back door, and eat-in window seat

The big picture window has a ledge.  A bench and stools make it a fun place to eat breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner.   It’s especially fun when the children use it as a kids’ table during family get-togethers.

Our table is “distressed” which was probably the smartest idea I ever had, next to marrying the Excellent Husband of course.

Finally, here’s the view into family room from the dining table.

So that’s a piece of our humble home.  When the other rooms are acceptable enough to photograph I will share those too!

  1. Aww, thanks! My mother and aunt get credit for most of the decorating. Did you check out the links to the other moms’ homes? Such practical ideas at their blogs – I love it!
